about
Our company's name translates as "Shepherd's House." And that's our essence. A shepherd's house is always simple and warm, and guests are given the best place by the hearth.
Shepherds House is our family. My husband, Jonathan, came to Kyrgyzstan in 2015. He served in the British Army and has a clear understanding of true service and attention to detail. And I, Saule, grew up here, on this land. I know every path, can negotiate with any local, and feel our culture from the inside.
We've become a kind of bridge: Jonathan knows what guests from Europe or America expect, and I know how to show them the real Kyrgyzstan, not the "showy" one.
We've never strived for quantity. For us, a guest isn't a number in a report, but a person with their own story. Our motto is: "Come as a tourist - leave as a friend." We want to get to know you better, have tea together, and show you places where large groups don't go.
We enjoy creating cozy places with our own hands. For example, we transformed an old trailer into a charming rest area where our guests now stay.
We live in the Ak-Suu district and want our village to prosper. We pay our taxes honestly and donate 10% of our profits to charity every year. The development of our community is as important to us as the success of our business.
Jonathan leads groups himself as an experienced guide, and I ensure that every detail of your trip is thought through. We believe that only in this way—by caring for our land—can we create fair tourism.
We invite you to our world.
We take guests not along beaten paths, but to places where life flows as it has for centuries.

Epic, beautiful, incredibly friendly, and a truly challenging three-day hike. Our guide, Bahram, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and even carried food for us up to the pass during the hike. Highlights: a two-day horseback trek across the pass to Lake Song-Kul, fed by meltwater. Thanks to our guide, Kanaat. A three-day trek beyond Karakol, across the pass to the hot springs. I can't recommend Shepherd's House enough!

Jonathan is an excellent guide, who is excellent at introducing you to the key sites and history of Karakol. He has a fascinating way of connecting the past and present. I highly recommend visiting the Shepherd's House, home to the Historical Museum, the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Dungan Mosque, as well as learning about local history while strolling the city streets.
